My Royal Christmas in Hawaii

Iolani Palace

It's been a tough year for me. Two wars; a prolonged health care debate; a crisis in the financial markets; you name it. I need a vacation. I deserve a vacation.

I'm going to Hawaii for Christmas. In the past, I've stayed at rental homes on Kailua Beach. Sure they were nice, but I'm the President now!

This year, I plan to stay at the Iolani Palace in downtown Honolulu. The Palace was the official residence of the Kingdom of Hawaii's last monarch: Queen Liliuokalani.

Overthrown by the US Government in 1893, the Kingdom of Hawaii ceased to exist. The Queen was imprisoned in the Palace two years later when a failed attempt was made to restore her to power.

To this day, some malcontents still grumble about the US takeover of Hawaii. What better way to put this to rest than to have the President of the United States officially occupy the Palace over Christmas?

Nope, this is not the official website of The White House. It's a parody of whitehouse.gov.  No person, department, or agency of the U.S. Government approved, endorsed, or authorized this site. No animals were harmed while making this website (except maybe that one time when I was a little late feeding my dog his dinner).
