The White House:   Our Advice to Russia

APEC 2012 in Vladivostok Russia

President Obama's RSVP to Russia

The White House is sad to announce that President Obama will not be able to attend the APEC Summit in Vladivostok due to previous shopping plans. President Obama assured a disappointed President Putin that it had nothing to do with him skipping the G8 Summit at Camp David. Absolutely nothing. Nope. President Obama is hoping that other world leaders will still go and he is committed to helping make that happen. The White House believes a flashing welcome sign like the one pictured below would help cheer up such a desolate place.

Our APEC Success in Hawaii

President Obama advising former Russian President Medvedev about APEC 2012

After hosting the phenomenally successful APEC 2011 in Hawaii, the White House is proud to offer our generous assistance to Russia to save its 2012 Summit in Vladivostok.

The key to any successful APEC Summit is the choice of costume for the traditional APEC Family Photo, also known as the "silly shirts" photo. The White House strongly believes that the choice of attire is a measure of a country's fortitude. A timid choice, such as the casual business attire at the 2010 APEC Summit in Japan, is a disappointment to APEC fans worldwide.

In a spirit of openness and transparency, President Obama asked the American People in 2011 to help make this important choice. This decision, as everyone knows, resulted in the instantly iconic APEC 2011 Leaders Photo below:

APEC 2012 Russian Costume

While it would be presumptuous of the United States to suggest a costume for APEC 2012 Russia, the White House believes that any of the Russian national dress choices below would be appropriate.

APEC 2012 Leaders Gift

In 2011, the White House chose the "APEC Leaders Commemorative Bobble Head" as the official APEC Leaders' gift. This choice was a real hit with the Leaders. For 2012, we recommend an APEC Leaders Matryoshka Doll set, preferably with absent President Obama in one of the top three nesting positions. APEC 2012 Vladivostok matryoshka dolls

APEC Russia 2012 Logo

Everyone knows the logo sets the stage for the upcoming APEC Summit. While your current choice of logo is nice, the obvious resemblance to the Russian flag clearly goes against the spirit of APEC.

And because the U.S. will not be properly represented at President Putin's summit, we believe a stars-and-stripes globe logo makes a better choice. In a spirit of openness, transparency, and friendship, the White House would like to offer this alternative logo for your consideration.

Putin Eases Vladivostok Bridge Safety Concerns

Russian President Vladimir Putin on the APEC Vladivostok Bridge to Russky Island

Russky Island bridge fire - APEC 2012 The White House applauds Russian President Vladimir Putin's brave response to international concern regarding the safety of the quickly built two-mile long suspension bridge.

The billion-dollar Russian-engineered longest cable-stayed bridge in the world caught on fire last December due to safety violations related to welding.

Putin averted a public relations disaster by climbing up on the bridge recently to show that it can easily support his weight.

Nope, this is not the official website of The White House. It's a parody of whitehouse.gov.  No person, department, or agency of the U.S. Government approved, endorsed, or authorized this site. No animals were harmed while making this website (except maybe that one time when I was a little late feeding my dog his dinner).
